This was hands down the best dance event I have ever been to. I was a silent disco virgin until Friday night, but once that cherry was popped I can’t wait to do it again. There was a slight queue outside Merlin’s, which was decked out like the Kokanee Cabin, but that only built up the excitement – what was a silent disco going to be like? The concept is pretty bizarre; a room full of people all listening to their own choice of three music channels through headphones. Whenever you had a personal “evacuate the dance floor” track, which for me is Chesney Hawkes, you could simply flip a switch and change the tune – revolutionary. You can also easily annoy friends, and complete strangers, by reaching over and changing theirs whilst waving your hands in front of their face saying “Channel three, three!”
