The doors opened at 8pm and there was a stream of people eager to see what State of the Art held in store for them this year – it did not disappoint. Whistler is made up of three kinds of people: the locals, the seasonal workers, and the visitors. What’s great about this festival is that there’s something for everyone. The locals already know this is something that has to be mulled over and certainly visited more than once. Seasonal workers relate to the art that they see on their snowboards, skateboards, and in the clothing graphics they pick out at the stores. Visitors can take away a piece of Whistler culture, something unique and distinctive. Conveniently located in the foyer of the conference centre, you can check out these artists before each evening event, or stroll in on your lunch break.
